If you have made a bunch of mailbox deletions and your Exchange DB is showing stacks of "white" space so you want to shrink it back down, you will need to follow these steps.

  1. Unmount the store - unfortunately the mailboxes must be offline for this process and the time they are offline will depend on the size of your DB.
  2. Make sure you have space - You will need free HDD space which is at least 110% of size of your current mailbox store DB for the process to work.
  3. Run "eseutil /d" - Execute the command line utility on you mailbox store.
  4. Mount the store - Remount your store into Exchange and you are all right to go.

Good Luck.
